Just out of curiosity, how many people are getting, or have gotten, that error within the passed day or so? It seems to be intermittent. It'll happen, but if you wait a bit then refresh, it works fine. Are many people having difficulties either with the site or with the forum?

Also, has anyone had any weird shit with pop-ups? IE: How bad are they? Is gator trying to install itself on your computer, are weird / annoying things happening etc...?

I'm running mozilla, and I've gotten that error several times over the last two days. Couldn't connect to server. Then my connection was refused by host. It happened for about an hour (or more, dunno, I went to bed).

Since I'm running mozilla, can't tell you about popups, though my computer still crashes randomly if I stay on HoL for too long. Really. I'm virus and spyware free. Microsoft autodetect error report thingy thinks I need a new driver for my modem, but their driver won't recognize my modem, so I think they're wrong. And it really only happens on HoL.

Okay, yeah. I'm running Internet Explorer, and a popup blocker, so I have no problems. Of course, when I didn't have popup blocker, when I went to T-A's front page, I got a bunch of "Intall Gator" and "Install WeatherCast" crap.

EDIT: I just went to the Frontpage and got full screen Spyware Protector advertisements... dunno if this is just me. Yes, I had my popup blocker on.

Never got anything... except when I was on the other computer, and I only got food and blue card ads.
Hey, Chaosthehobo, don't forget the opening tray ones...

Yeah, I got a popup yesterday from this site I think that opened up my CD-tray. It shook me up and made me jump, hehe. Yes, then it said, "If your CD-ROM just opened, you need Spyware Protection." So, yeah, and then I closed my tray and it brought up The Sims autoplay and intrigued me to play it! Dammit!

The CD tray one is what prompted me to post this. A trusted friend told me about it and that it concerned them a bit. Not a worry, but it's not something that should be happening either.

I suppose I can tell you all know that regardless of how much of a bitch it's going to be, we ARE going to get rid of the pop-ups. The server move we might need in order to do it will probably kill me though.

This may be a bit off-topic, but hasn't chrisbeddoes English been degrading over the past few months??

Something on-topic: I never get pop-ups at this page nor do I have problems with it. My only problem is that sometimes the login doesn't work the first time and when I DO get logged after that, it resets the grey gears.

If you don't like popups then I suggest spybot. Probly the best anti-spyware program out there. I use spybot, ad-aware, Hijackthis, Kerio personal firewall, Sygate personal firewall, and spyware blaster. All of those are great free programs.

I run IE with a popup blocker, but I'm definitely blocking popups periodically from this site, so that stinking Gator is trying hard. I hate that program. Otherwise, no problems connecting on a normal basis.

Gator is one of the most annoying spyware programs out there.. I haven't got a popup in a long time.. Probly because I use mozilla and spybot. My firewall (kerio) blocks banner ads and popups, so a popup would have a hard time doing it's job.

According to Sleek, this subject is taboo. Fuck that. I'm going to consider Chris' english skills to be reprehensible until he provides proof of it being a second language that he never bothered to learn very well.

What, should he send you a copy of his passport?

They only reason I think he's not native is that when he was working on his old mod, he sent out a call for native speaking people to write dialogue for him.
