I accepted the job from Cedric Appleby to humiliate Gilbert Bates by finding "incriminating evidence" inside his mansion. I killed the four guards without bringing harm to Chukka and Bates, smashed the chest and took his journal. Then I killed Bates and Chukka. My question is, if I killed Gilbert Bates, how am I going to get to the Isle of Despair later on? If he was still alive he would refer me to Edward Teach. Alas, he is dead, and I am loathe to go back to an earlier save if there is an alternative solution. I'm quite sure there is one, as from what I've heard the game was made so that no matter what you did, whoever you killed, there would still be SOME way to go further. I'm assuming the death of Bates just makes getting to the Isle of Despair more difficult.
Teach will still take you to the Isle of Despair. Just make sure you read the journal before you hand it over to Appleby.
Techl0ver:But I didn't kill Teach, so I can still get there...no need for sympathy. And to the rest of you, thanks for the help.
