good weapon for mage?

You have two things confused. Spell charges are limited. There are just a certan number & when they are used up, no more spells. Manna is used instead of your blue bar. Fatigue or FT will be regenerated over time as will the manna in a staff or weapon. Look at your money / ammo guage. it should show thw # of coins you have. Equip a Staff. Now it will have that blue swirly thing (swirly thing alert) & the number 50. THat is the manna counter. Cast a few spells, watch it go down. Advance time an hour, watch it go up.

 

ok I just got the begellian scourage (or whatever its called) and an arcane ax. I can already cast the stuff on the scourage and it made my alignment go from 99 to 22 =(. should I use the axe instead? i does have better damage ratings...

 

The scourge drops your alignment like a stone. Yeah its good, it casts those spells itself! Are you ready to play evil?

so exactly how much does it help to have something with mana? ive never really took much notice, also is it worth haveing two arcane staffs so when the mana goes i can use the other for a while, i once had the opportunity but couldn't really be bothered tov waste like 9000 gold on another.

where do i find a good staff for a mage?

 

Mage's staves- at any magick trader's shop. Arcane's staves- wise women who identify items sell them sometimes, and Master mages in Tulla always have them, so you can steal. Stealing is relatively easy even without fate points, if you have 5 CPs in pick pocketing and an Expert rank. If you're still having trouble stealing them, use a fate point, or plant some big sword into that mage's inventory so they would equip it instead of the staff (or anything with higher damage than Arcane staff's one).

 

yeh if only there were more common things with high mana, also can you get shields/gloves that help with mana

 

No, sigh. You would expect the occasional ring or pendant to help, but it seems not.

 

hey , at that "kree" site i found the hexed berserkers staff! it should give me +3 ST , DX ,CON or -4ST DX CON...
how do i get the +4 instead of -3??
btw im a mage character and have 100% magic on it so dont tell me i need to raise that by getting more spells!

 

You can't choose. It randomly switches between the two stat effects. Sometimes you'll be better then suddenly you'll be worse and vice versa.

 

cool ive never had that, what are its other stats?
