In the Arcanum manual it states that Half Ogres CANNOT use guns because their hands are too big. I was having Sogg carry and elephant gun, plus a bunch of bullets and other stuff, and he began to use the elephant gun in combat. Does this mean that Half-Ogres can use Rifles (ie two handed guns) but not pistols? or is this some kind of wierd bug? Thanx in advance
More an editing error. In one picture, in the manual, they show a 1/2 Ogre in a chair with a rifle in his hands. In a book in the Tarant Libarary,'The Hunter Hunted', there is a scene with a 1/2 Ogre with a Mechanized Gun. A rather frighening and expensive proposition. I have one, a 1/2 Ogre Mad Doctor. With 2 Charged Rings he can eat over 300 coins worth of ammo in one combat round!
This brings up something that I had forgot about. Using sogg as a storage bin while travelling, I picked up a pistol and gave it to him. Being early in the game I forget what weapon sogg had but as soon as I found some bullets and put into soggs inventory, he transferred the sword he was using for the gun. I wasn't aware of this until he started shooting some thugs. Also he likes them circular throwing things (hehehehe) you just have to watch what you give your followers because they might just try to use it even if they don't have the str to. Parmanian
u mean chakrams? i couldn't beleive it sogg prefers bladed boomerangs ovr quality broadswords! sogg couldn't have used a pistol because its only two handed guns half ogres can use.
Sweet! I always wanted to do a 1/2 Ogre wielding a Tesla gun and wearing Elite Plate. If you do a character that has close combat ability, the Pyro Axe just makes the game WAY to easy.
Not that it matters, cause it dosent, since yes Half Ogres can use 2h firearms. But in Shadygroves picture.. thats a Half-Orc.. Pointy ears.
That's what Chukka in my party has, a suit of Large Elite Plate, (just use large leather armour when making it) a Flow Disruptor Shield and an Pyro Axe. His Armour Class and offensive power are just ridiculous. Regards, Morden
Which would be odd, considering the picture in question is featured in the half-ogre section of the manual. Page 129. Then later it appears again for some reason on the warranty page. Still, half-orcs look rather like gorillas (page 140). It's a half-ogre in the picture.
