Okay, I've followed FAQs, I've tried it with 2 characters, and I can't get the bloody star. Either there's something blatantly obvious that I'm missing or there's a glitch in my game.

I had never bothered with Throwing with previous characters, so I tried running a Throwing/ Haste character. I figured that I could get the Throwing Master Quest early, sneak up to Hadrin's Pass, run through to the forest, and head off to K'na Tua. Great, go there no problems. Ran through the dungeon with no major difficulties. Then, I get to the room which is shaped like an X. Monsters appear one after another as I kill the earlier ones, and there's only one fire in the room.

When I hit the 'light,' the lighting effect is still there, and it's now labelled 'fire.' I hit it again and the lighting effect goes away for a few seconds (20?), then the fire and lighting come back on. I've tried this before killing the critters, after each critter, and after all the critters are dead. Nothing happens.

Now, according to the FAQs I've read, a chest should appear. The only thing I've found in the room that I can access is a pile of healing items. Das ist Alles. Both characters I ran to this point were about level 15 when getting to this room.

    Any ideas?

The only modification to my game is that I added a bunch of portraits, so it shouldn't be a MOD issue. I'm running the latest patch (1.0.7.4 or whatever it is).

Once again, any object that shows hit points is a valid target. Once you run out of monsters, you should have at least 4 valid targets....

The valid targets in the room are the light/ fire which turns itself back on after 20 seconds or so, and the four fires around the room above the goddess statues. It will only let me hit one of the fires above the goddess statues, the other ones just make my action bar blink like it's an invalid target. The other two pillars won't let me target them and don't show any hit points.

That's 5 targets (6 really, since I can target the light and then the fire on the middle pedestal). Still stuck :-(. My game is showing a few glitches in it (molochean hand assassins which don't take damage is the one which sticks out in my mind), so I'm thinking of dumping and reinstalling the game :-/

I'm patched to 1.0.7.4. I don't believe that I have any modifications to it other than adding a bunch of portraits :).

I'm supposed to hit the middle torch, right? The only one which is lit (and the only one which shows as targetable)?

I'm thinking I might just have to dump it and start from scratch. I'd rather not if it's a simple error, though :)

Actually, as far as I can remeber, you must kill all of the enemies before you can transport to the star. Some of those enemies can be quite deadly too,

Well, the critters have stopped spawning. I don't remember for certain, but I think that there was a Kite Warrior, an Inferno Spider, a Demi-Lich, a Stone Elemental (of some description: Rock Sprite or whichever). That's all I can remember. But, I'm certain that there are no more critters spawning. I sat there for several minutes (on more than one occassion) to make sure that no other critters were going to spawn. I'll go back into one of the saves & check to see if any of the critters are just unconscious, but it did the same thing with two different saved games.

Well, maybe you need to take the chakram in the chest as well? I've done this quest several times and I've never had any trouble....

And there is no reason to dump the whole thing & reinstall. There is a repair option & a dump but leave saved games & mods behind for reinstallation option.

It wasn't that hard for me. I think that the real target might be out of range for you. What weapon are you using? Got anything with more range? Even if you have no skill in the weapon you could try it.

I have done that maze with guns, bows & throwing. But not for a few months.

    I'm using a Magickal Chakram. Range 20, I believe.

If I do dump it, I'll keep the Saves & mods, of course. There are just a few glitches and I think that this might be one of them.

Which target is it supposed to be? One of the fires on top of a goddess statue, or the fire on the pedestal?

One of the statue fires, I cannot remember which one. South? East? Arrrrgh....

    Range 20 should be plenty.

Ok, because I have so much free time, I just replayed it. You must kill all of the enemies that keep respawning and THEN hit the fire in the pedastal. The problem is probably that you aren't looking hard enough for the enemies. They can hide behind the walls where they are hard to see and also blend in with the floor/walls. Maybe you should turn up your gamma correction as high as you can and check again. If that STILL doesn't work.... then I have no idea... sorry. Hope you figue it out.

i got stuck there a long time too. I figure out that you could use a bolt of lightning on the light to get it out. I've tried using other weapons but it didnt work. So i think electric magic works

I did that quest a long time ago, so I don't remember much...
But I do remeber the fire-lights... I pressed down "alt" on my keybord and then I started to attack all of the Fire-lights I saw... As I can remember there where two rooms with fire-lights, or am I wrong?
It took me about one hour just to figure out that you should hit the fire-lights...

I did it once. It took me two hours to finish it. Then I didn't realize you get the Star where you do and I didn't pick it up :-( Had to do the damn thing all over.
