Hey, I just installed the 1.0.7.4 patch for Arcanum, and one of the things I noticed (besides a funkier world map) is that the damage we dealt that used to float over the characters' heads are gone! I liked that a lot, and would like it back one way or another. . . . so, is that caused by the patch? How would I re-enable the damage feedback? Also, one other question. . . is there a limit to the number of found schematics for each tech discipline? For some reason, I'm incapable of copying down the schematic for the multi-barreled pistol, and I already have the high-velocity pistal, charged accelerator gun, and long-range pistol for the gun smithy discipline. Thanks for the help!
Go into game options and set, um, oh what was it, Floats I think, to "verbose". The number of found schematics you can learn is limited by the number of found schematics you can find. The Schreck's Pistol schematic is a quest item, and cannot be learned without cheating. It's not that great of a weapon anyway, though it does have a nice unique inventory graphic....
Oh, is THAT what Appleby would have had me find? I don't think he was too happy after I helped Bates with his steam engine saboteurs, so the quest is probably beyond me now.
He doesn't want that schematic anyway; he wants Bates's journal. The schematic is for the Thieves Underground.
