1-15 damage.... 2d8 -1 is the closest. The chances are not equally distributed but it works.

Anything is possible to translate to dice rolls.

    Blinky, a few points:
    1. I'm a 14 year old highschooler. the most advanced math I currently know is Integrated 1. (Though I'm learning C++)
2.My friends would laugh at my having even suggested it... one half of them are large, stupid, football players, and the others are computer geeks like me...+

Ah, I remember Integrated 1, that was a fun course. I'm 16, in precalculus and AP Physics. Me taking somewhat more advanced math, I still don't want to deal with that crap. My last post was merely a weak attampt to give the others a grasp of what they could do. I personally don't like PnP because it's too intensive, I have class and stuff to worry about. I also have a life, but that comes second.
I know how you feel with the two friends deal, I have 3 groups. The jocks like me, but at the same time I'm in the drama club. And I'm president of the chess club, so I'm often torn between football, chess, or shakespeare. Of course since drama club has dreamy hippie chicks, football has cheerleaders, and chess has dusty books, it isn't as hard to prioritize as it seems :)

I am so jealous of you kids, the best I could do in high school was 3 years of algebra & high school calculus. And I had to have them order in the calc book. Learned most of my math from buying college texts or reading Scientific American.

I just actually found some scientific Americans in my attic, from 1974 too.

ummmm they make 4 and 8 sided die. also the way you just suggested would actually work out to be 3-8 damage.

But with dice there is this curve....

    On 2 D4, you have 1 chance of making 1 or 8, 2 chances of making 3, 5 or 7, 3 chances of making 4 or 6.

Use a pair of D10s & run it as %? That way you could build in your crit hits & misses.

I have got that covered in the combat section. The crit hit/miss chance is worked into the combat-rank system. I don't have my notes with me right now, but it works something like this:

Combat skill rank 1: Crit hit: 01-03, hit up to 40, miss from 40 to 96, crit miss from 97-00.
Going from rank 1 to rank 2 increases your crit hit chance and reduces your crit miss chance and so on and so forth.
