Alright, straight to the point. Q1) What does create undead (necromancy lev4) do? Is it worth investing points in? Q2) How come the spirits I conjured (necro lev2) never gave me information? Is there a way I can ask them question? Maybe it's because I conjured the not so important characters (killed the Schuyler guard and Magnus conjured both of them). I know you'll hate me for killing magnus but he's tech I'm mage and he hates me being so evil and I wanted to loot and he stood there with no guards and everything. Q3) Which attack spells do you mages prefer in higher level? Quench life, disintegrate or summoning familiars, elementals, etc. Your help is greatly appreciated in advance. Thank you!
Q1) What does create undead (necromancy lev4) do? Is it worth investing points in? --- 1. I believe create undead allows you to uh create undead.. hehehe (the diff with summon is that it won't attack u, so they would be fine fodder). I don't believe it's worth investing on, since u can become very powerful later and your companions too, without relaying to other creatures, besides u will need all the hits 4 u to level-up.. --- 2.Your right, try to conjure Important NPC like the father of the schuyler or the professor in the Elven Ruins. Q3) Which attack spells do you mages prefer in higher level? Quench life, disintegrate or summoning familiars, elementals, etc. --- 3.I rely mainly on my dependable ol fireflash, havent try quench or disintegrate yet. Quench life is better I presume, since it won't disintegrate the target's equipments.. Your help is greatly appreciated in advance. Thank you! --- Well, that is why this forum is here , Right people???
Keep it coming Thanks Skie88, you always answer my posts :wink:Keep the answers on the last question coming please. I would like to know who's character use what attack spell and the pros and cons of them.
Your welcome, and I forgot, fireflash do damage the baddies equipments so that can be a cons...
High Level Spells vs Low level Spells I found most of the high level spells to be rather pointless compared to the low level ones once I had gained high aptitude. Disintegrate is brutal, but utterly unfun. Given how ridiculously powerful the spell is, its like killing an ailing wolf with dynamite. Fun once or twice, but eventually dull. I usually stop Forcce after I learn jolt. Summoned familiars are inferior in terms of HP and damage to the supreme critters; Dog and Stillwater Blade Vorpal Bunnies. (Why spend your own fatigue?) Quench life costs far too much to be worth the investment in Character Points when you look at the damage it yields. Casting the Harm spell with 100% aptitude will cause FAR MORE damage than quench will for the same fatigue cost. (5 harms at approximately 40HP each = 200 HP for 25 fatigue..... I've already done 16 HP damage with quench life with 100% aptitude. That's a worst case example, but a possibility nonetheless. Fireflash is GREAT, especially if you use some restraint. I use it mainly as my anti vermin spell, though its certainly capable of erasing towns. Conveyance is a great school also. After casting teleport for the first time, I've been utterly spoiled ever since. If you have any permanent NPCs, temporal is great to learn all the way. If you're playing solo, there's not much reason to learn beyond Haste. If you have a large party, Tempus Fugit will guarantee your success. (This is even worse than disintegrate as it is far too easy to win with these two spells. Magic resistance doesn't apply. This spell is just utter cheese.) And you can't go wrong with White Necromancy, even if you're the only target of those spells. Invisibility is fun. Hell, they're all fun but non essential. I get the feeling you're looking to stick to Black Magick (if the name is any indication). Go for it. But don't waste a lot of CP on duplicate spells like monster summoners and what not. Since Harm is not resisted against, make it your primary damage dealer, with a few other damage spells being used to "spice things up." Then just dump your points into utility spells that you can use and that will boost your aptitude to 100% ASAP. I personally wouldn't even worry about most of the high level spells. But by all means, give them a try, and form your own opinions on them when you get the chance. Until that time, there's some points you can devote to other facets of your character be that in stats, skills, or spells.
dientergrate is wonderful to open those stubborn doors and chest that just won't open with open lock spell
Me experience: the best for mage are harm and flash (I don't remember the name: the 3-rd in fire magicks). If yor char is a master in dark magicks (see Tulla) harm cost almost nothing but very effective, the other spell is very effective on a number of enemies. About other spells for mage: Teleport is very useful if you have lack of time (real, not game), Invisibity is useful but it's worse than experience in prowling, time spells for mage are good if you have powerfull in melee and dodge companions ( and addition high charisma to have a lot of comp-s), Summon familiar is funny but it is not so strong as you want
Actually killing magnus is the first thing i did when arrived to Tarant, that bugger i hate him...but his gloves always come in handy.
More questions. Have any one tried any of the elemental spells? Are they worth it? What spells do you use?
Fire Elemental does around 20HP damage when he hit me. Those things also damage armor. Earth Elementals are similar to Ore Golems. Weapons are damaged by hitting them, and they do fairly good damage too. I haven't seen the other two. There are several monsters in the game that will summon other creatures. If you kill those creatures that summon the monsters, the monsters will disappear.
