Books from Tarant library - schematics

Hi to all, I´m having a problem trying to use books from
Tarant library. I can buy for 750 one book for each tech discipline, but I didnt find a way how to use then. Please if someone know how they work I would apreciate explanation. Thanks McBlacky

 

Basically, they raise your skill in a certain discipline. Meaning that, when you have a book about the electrical discipline in your inventory, you'll be able to use (store-bought or found) electrical schematics that you weren't previously able to use. So instead of buying the skill with character points (and getting a free schematic) you buy the skill with money and have to get schematics separately.

the books raise your skill by your intelligence when the books are put into your inventory. if you were to use a potion of intellect to boost your intelligence from 8 to 18 and then get the books, they would give you +18 even after the potion wore off.
