In your opinion ( boy thats loaded) Considering a good aligned party:

Do you think it is more beneficial to clean out one side first then take the quest to get rid of the remaining clan?

    or

Just take the quest later to get rid of both clans?

In my plan to acquire my followers at the same level I had to put the first part off and then forgot about it until I talked to willousby who wants the boil cleaned up.

Well I'm back to a save game before this and I was gonna go kill maugs gang and I thought this may be a good topic to discuss.

I believe you get more experience by doing both quests.

I'm gonna loose alignment points by joining either gang but would I get them back by cleaning out the other side? see i'm stuck on +100 and trying to keep it there.

You can get the quest from Pollock without joining his gang. Just pop up through his trap door from the sewer and initiate dialogue through the wall. Just don't leave the little room you popped up in or he'll attack.

You'll still lose a few alignment points when you report back to him (again, through the sewers), but not too many and you can make them up in no time. Once you end the dialogue with Pollock and get your pay, leave the little room and he'll go hostile, and you can then clear out that side of the Boil.

Good way to get a hand cannon and some more dialogue with Virgil without joining the gang.

You could as well join the gang. You'll make up for the lowered alignment very quickly

Pop through the hole AND talk to Pollock, who will recognize the little sleazeball. Won't happen if you're on Maug's quest to kill Pollock of course. There's also supposed to be a similar dialogue with Virgil over Maug, but it seems to have been left out of the game. :-(

Very true, but a good-aligned character might feel all icky walking around for the rest of the game with a "Member of __'s Gang" reputation.

So since there is enough exp points in the game, I'm gonna just take the quest to kill both gangs!

Like canis said about my 'good' reputations!

I was just on this quest and when I talked to sebastion he said that the maug gang needed to be taken care of. didn't mention the pollock gang.

then he wanted to join the party (sorry full house). thats another post!

Do I still go after pollock and his gang? or is the quest done?

The quest is indeed done, but there are still EX points in killing the other gang. As they are all evil, you have a freebie there alignment wise.

Want some freebie kills alignment wise, get the Sense Alignment spell. Then walk around with it case, see someone with a negative alignment, follow them around until they are alone and kill them. Some of them are fairly high level and give some good EXP I think. Do the whole vigilante justice thing. :p

I joined one gang, can't remember which. The Half-Orc fellow, and got a quest from the Council(!?) to give that guy beats. Sebastian joined me, I killed the other ganger, got payed then introduced the dude to my Rifled cannon at a very short distance.
