I've started an Arcanum D&D campaign which takes place in the Age of Legends. I'm kind of a noob at DMing and stuff, so does anyone have any advice? (please don't say stuff like "give up" ) Thank you!
Cool! PnP roleplaying can be great fun if you're in the right group! I'm sure you'll handle the whole DMing part but... how will you deal with the magick/technology dichotomy? Or are you scrapping the aptitude system altogether? I take it you're using D&D 3.5?
Hey Spiffy, Here's a little something you might want to take a look at. http://rapidshare.com/files/36512272/GURPS_-_Steampunk.pdf
The website I linked in my profile has lots of interesting reading for making steampunk P&P games. Maybe GURPS Age of Napoleon and GURPS Fantasy can add something too(as it's not easy to find rulebooks with both magick and technology). D&D is too medieval fantasy and combat-focused to work properly for a Setting like Arcanum in my opinion, because that is what it was made for in the first place.
Welcome to the forum, Jason! I started to post a link for a steampunk manual but it's already at the website. There was another one I'd seen at Rapidshare but damned if I can remember the name of it.
The pdf didnt work for me, it downloaded as a scrambled html file. Thats a cool website jason. what did you google to find it?
dstanzler - you can also get it from here: http://rapidshare.com/files/36512272/GURPS_-_Steampunk.pdf Edit: I just realized I'd posted the same link in the same thread twice.
