Elves outside Elven Tomb

I found it risky to fight the four elves outside the elven tomb, so I played a little trick there......

I walked to the bottom-left side of the elves, but not too close to start the dialogue. I waited, until some spiders came as random encounter. At first I hope the spiders would attack the elves, but they came at a different direction.

When I fight the spiders, funny thing happen : the elves ran away in fear when they saw me attack the spiders. "Please! The pain!" "I must flee!" The tomb enterance is now clear. Yeah! The "prowess" of a level 6 halfing once again save the day!

 

Well, what I do to avoid a confrontation is enter the tomb from the side opposite to the elves.
