Are you frustrated when virgil leaves your party at level 35, only to return at level 25? Well here's a miracle cure. Virgil does not need to die!!!! "It can't be true!" you say, but I assure you it is. First do all business you need to in Tsen Ang (speak to Min Gorad & the Molochean hand etc.). Once you have finished with the important business release the ogres from their slavery by killing the evil elf dude. It is imperative at this point that you ensure they (the ogres) survive to the passage leading down to the bottom of the tree. Now, when they have gone down, switch to turn based combat mode. Then follow them down. You will immediately be attacked by the Dark Elf Guards at the bottom. Tell your followers to "back off" (f5) then use all your movement points to get as far away as possible. The guards should be so busy dealing with the ogres that once you get out of the big tree thing you can exit combat mode, go to the world map, and leggit! Thus virgil does not get a chance to say he's leaving, and will remain with your party as his fully powered self.
Virgil didn't say he was leaving until I started traveling. Then one day we stopped and he told me he's leaving.
Well, he didn't for me. I've even gone to caladon and everything. I am using an unpatched version though. Perhaps it was corrected.
hmmm sounds like you lucked out man virgil got me when i was in a cematary somewhere in some other town quite a bit furthur down the plot it seems a bit random when he leaves. however it should be noted that virgil gains necromantic black spells when you ressurect him (which makes him A LOT harder) so the question really is one of patience can you wait for virgil to catch up with you?
