Mafia is quite possibly the best game I have ever played, at least in the action genre. I know it's old, but I discovered it this summer and beat it a few weeks ago. It has everything: tommy guns, awesome classic cars (I WANT the Lassiter V16 Appolyon), and even a decent romance. The classic boy meets girl, boy beats the shit out of girl's would-be-rapists, girl bandages boy and then has furious Sicilian sex with him, boy marries girl, etc etc. And the ending ruled. Spoiler The first game I've ever played where the hero (using the term loosely) dies at the end. Good, good game.
Hey SOME PEOPLE are members of huge families that aren't rich SOUTHERNERS and are GOING TO COLLEGE. So they DON'T HAVE MONEY TO BUY HUGE FRIGGIN EXPENSIVE PROCESSORS.
Hahahahaaaahahaha! Truce. I got a kick out of that one. That's what all us southerners do now days. Stay home and buy processors all day when we should be tending to our huge families and going to college.
Sigurd, you should track down and play Planescape: Torment. I haven't played Mafia, but if you liked that ending, then you should be blown away by PS:T.
Finally, someone else found out about Mafia: City of Lost Heaven. Truly great stuff. I posted some things on it a while back. In fact, here: http://www.terra-arcanum.com/phpBB/view ... hp?t=11134 That's what I thought.
What do you mean DU? I bought Mafia as soon as it came out. Yes it is a rocking game (I love that level in the brother and the sawn-off (drool). It had a good story but the sex scene was mildly disturbing. It was better than VC for gameplay and story but not for lastability but I recommend it to anyone who hasnt played it yet
No game is better than the GTA series. Except for GTA 1 and 2. San Andreas is comming out soon. Its gonna rock any game in this genre. You can do almost anything and the gameplay is emmense. Only problem... its exclusive to PS2.
So were GTA3 and Vice City. They both came out on other platforms. Also, I've seen Vice City in action, and I wasn't too impressed.
You have to *play* Vice City. But other than drive around, there's not much too it once you finish the missions. Good for some mindless fun every now and again though. I mean exactly that.
