Use of items - spike trap /bear trap....

I had magnus make a bunch of these... how do you use them?

Also, found a bear trap. How does one use it, and what would a trapped bear be good for??

 

All traps work the same way.

Put them in the hot key bank and click on the item or use the hotkey shortcut. It will give you a tech item cursor click the cursor on the ground where you want the trap to be placed.

if they are in your inventory drag them to the hand icon and do the same as above.

 

Make sure you are planting a trap where you want it. Once planted it cannot be picked up. Also traps are one shot deals. Although visible to you and your followers you can still activate them, much to your dismay, so don't step on them.

 

The thing is, those villains keep on avoiding the trap. Is it in the AI? Unless you make a linear path, they have no other option.

 

its quite fun...the AI in arcanum are quite smart when it comes to avoiding traps..^_^

 

Oh, yes, I forget how some villains have high perception. I'll try it again and see if they do have them and still avoid the traps or not. If it doesn't work, its a bug.
