I think Harry Potter is too young to have really explored his sexuality at all.

    ...

but yeah, I like the books, and the movie. I think they're fairly nifty. I didn't expect them to be. As a rule of thumb, I approach any piece of fantasy that my mother and/or sister recommend to me with a healthy dose of scepticism, but as it turns out, I actually liked Harry Potter.

I admit to having read the books and enjoyed them. There are some discrepancies in the books though, but they are mainly minor ones.

The movie I'm not so sure about though...

Are you sure it's even an opinion?

    *duck*

Anyway, I saw the film a couple of weeks ago. Despite being the only adults there not dragging a bunch of kiddies around, I had a right good time.

Plus, it promotes fantasy as literature (albeit children's), which id never a bad thing by me.

Being a contrary bugger, I couldn't read the books when everyone and his brother were doing so. Now they've moved onto the film, I think I might give them ago (if I can EVER get to the end of this Song of Ice and Fire!)

Some schools over here have banned it either because people wouldn't stop reading them, or because they were immoral/practiced witchcraft.

At least in the more religious schools. The principals were runnning around shouting "Harry Potter is the tool of the Devil! He practices witchcraft! Witchcraft is the tool of the Devil!"

Quethim may have a point here. Look at the way that kid rides a broomstick.

I use to like HP until I saw the movie. What a bunch of fluff! Being a witch and being gay, I think HP is the most Hetro crap I have ever wasted my time to see. (btw unless someone gay made it, don't call it gay. You breeders need to take the blame for your own crap)

I think the main idea of making the Harry Potter books was to get kids away, from TV, movies, and computers since they were spending too mcuh time staring at screens. OK
But now they are making a movie and a computer game??? WTF?? :xoldrop:

The main idea of writing the Potter books was to make money. As Mark Twain said, " Only a blockhead writes for anything besides money."

    and

Which I'd say should cause us to take any apparent opinions of the great man with a pinch of salt.

    Although,

To the queen of England while trying to get her to let him off the tax on his royalties, suggesting he did, indeed, have have quite an interest in money.

People have been evading their taxes for centuries it appears...

Wow, that's one for a court of law - Mark Twain didn't pay taxes on royalties, why should I?
