    Hi all,

    I'm kinda stuck in tarant, and it is getting boring, so;

If anyone is kind enough to share their save file with me, please PM me or post a link here...

    Thanks in advance

I'd help you if I could, but I haven't had Arcanum on my hard drive since I upgraded my computer like a year ago. I think a lot of people that still go to this board - or at least General Discussion part of the board - haven't played Arcanum in a long time. You'd probably get better results if you posted this in the Tips and Hints section, because those people are still playing the game.

So while I can't help you with a save game, if tell us what you're stuck on, we could probably help you there.

yea... I won't give you my save-game, but if you tell me (on here or PM) what the problem is, and what the last couple big moves you did were, I'll see what I can do to help ya

I only have two saves right now, one hack where i have killed basically everyone in Shrouded Hills, Dernholm, and Blackroot so I could run lots and lots of tests, and another at the very end, so I can't help you, but Milo is wrong, I still play regularly, although most of it isn't REAL playing, it's just testing.

Heh, judging by the responses in this thread, it sure seems like it.

I kind of assumed most of the people in GD were in the same boat as me. It'd be interesting to see how many of us actually still play the game. I have nothing against the game; I quite liked it way back when, but the thought of playing through it again never crosses my mind any more. I don't even know where my game discs are any more. Maybe I'll start a poll...

i just got arcanum and i play it on and off, its a really good game, but its not like i dont have better things to do etc. i mean a good single player game is a ton of fun, but nothing beats lording over you vanquished foes in a multiplayer environment, no matter what it is. even a lot of the pen and paper stuff i did in high school boiled down to ten of my friends plotting against each other, and slowly calculating lots of well timed pk's.

yea... it is kinda hard to find a good single player game... btw, Sleek, if your interesting in a pretty cool (non-turn based) single player game, look up Siege of Avalon, it's not nearly as diverse as Arcanum, and the plot is set-in-stone, but if your after just a game to dwindle away some hours when your Arcanumed out, it's a pretty good one...

I'm still playing it, even though I have completed it a few times by now. Of course the reason why I'm playing it now is because I'm trying to turn it into a pnp rpg. =)
Yes, I have no job and no life. =)

Really? Converting Arcanum to a PnP RPG... interesting. Say, are you building a completely new system, or are you simply modifying an already existing one (like D&D 3.5 or, what is it now, eh... GURPS?)

I'm actually trying to use the system used in the game, as far as I can figure it out. ;) There will be some changes to it though, especially to the damage-system, since some of the damage-codes don't translate terribly well into ordinary dice. 1-15 for instance.
Making a complete list of items that you can find or buy is really a drag, but I'm getting there. I've done the normal equipment and the tech (Yes, I prefer the tech) and I'm now working on the magickal equipment.

PnP, acronym for Pen and Paper, you know, tabletop roleplaying games.

More info to be found at:

PS: Congratulations to the new avatar :) .

BAH! oh ok, yeah that makes sense. if anyone is interested i found a pen and paper version of fallout... the link is... http://pnp.duckandcover.net/

i think it looks pretty cool, even though i might make a few changes to it so it takes a little longer to get uber-powerful...

Apart from some of the lists, I have also made a charactersheet, which can be viewed here.

I may be lazy, but I don't have that much free tyme, sorry, and even if I did then I would go through and play my immense list of DIVERSE games... (I just had to rub that point in  ) that would be much more enjoyable then taking 15 minutes to calculate a single fight with a rat when I could have the comp do it for me. :p

I must concur, I have precalculus and physics to give me a stoke, I don't need my hit percentage while attacking a bunny with a blugeoning weapon to help that.

On the other hand you would get to spend a entire evening with your friends playing a game that you enjoy. It doesn't really matter how long it takes, providing you're into that human-comunication-and-socalising-thing and don't substitute it with via-computer-comunication. ;)
