new tech character help

I've heard this theory before, and many times I've kept watch on the alignment meter before and during a big killing spree like the sewers. And I can assure you it's never moved.

Certainly in the future I shall continue to monitor the meter in such situations, but I don't expect any different results.

 

450G Decent Gold Ring?

Since this thread has already accomplished its objective... I ask you something that has nothing to do with the thread (just that I don't think it's worth making another topic for this).

I went to Malachi Rench's castle and after killing the Lord of the Damned I got a decent gold ring from him... when I was about to sell it I noticed the bartender was paying like 450 for it... then I selected the other 2 decent gold rings I had and they worht like 50... that ring has some special stat?

Also the Lord of the Damned says something when you encounter him... is that an Easter Egg of something or what? What he says?

PS: I must tell you. Once again Virgil proves his abilities... when a chicken in Shrouded Hills knocked him down and damaged his weapon... (a chicken for god sake!! :x )

Did you run the supect ring past a wise woman? Bartender buying things? Lord of the Damned Says something? I don't remember that, but I just happen to have a party just outside of the castle & I am surely going to look.

 

He says, "Prepare to join us in the tranquility of death." I've always wondered why most of the people who go on about how death is so wonderful and peaceful are also some of the scariest folk you'll ever meet. Virgil being the exception of course.

Dunno about the ring. Just seems like a regular Decent Gold Ring to me. I couldn't detect any stat increases while wearing it. The wise woman wouldn't pay more than 35 for it. And you're telling me there's a bartender you can trade with?

And what the hell are you doing attacking innocent chickens?! Never underestimate the fury of irate livestock. You should see how pissed off my bunnies get if I don't give them a treatsie.... I hate to think what would happen if somebody went after them with a staff....

Ah, thanks for answering about the LoD phrase... why would it have a special voice? I didn't even hear anything important about it... also, Malachi Rench is buried in the cemetery (according to Geoffrey), so it can't be him... :-?

 

Just took a 98% good gunslinger through the Ashbury Castle. Came out at 92%. The Lord of the Damned said nothing, but I didn't give him much chance to. Haven't had the ring appraised yet.

 

i used to have problems with my alignment dropping before i got patched. im not sure if it was the patch that changed it in my situation or something else i did, but people could try downloading the patch. magnus can be very annoying, but after keeping him for a while, he seemed to mellow out and also become useful for tech and neutral members of my party.

 

Ha! It's not that Magnus will complain less, it's that unconsiciously you'll stop doing things that make him complain, just to not hear him again!

Hey. News about the decent gold ring... I didn't find out what it does but I still think is something in it... after I sold it for 467 coins, I looked at how much it'd cost to purchase it back and... it was around 2300! It has to have something! :-o

...or maybe it's real name is "24K gold ring" and that's why it costs more? Somebody... do... something? I just don't know how to get anything from it.

 

Do you have points in the haggle skill or something? I swear, I never managed to get more than 35 gold for that ring without haggle, though I didn't check to see how much it was being sold back for.

Side note, went through Ashbury Castle yesterday with a 93% good gunslinger, shot everything on sight, came out 93%. Went to Tarant, did the sealed sewers at 100% good, came out 100%.

 

As for the alignment thing, don't know what you're talking about... I've never had problems with that... but if you're talking about Malachi's Castle, don't pick up the Dark helm the LoD wears or that will make you evil.

I had no points in haggle; I am playing as Solomon Doone, the premade character and he's necro (hey, those characters are fun afterall, who would thinkn of that? ), when I was about to sell that ring, the same wise woman would accept just 40 for the other 2 decent gold rings I had, but 467 for that one I got from the LoD!

Well, this seems to don't have a solution!

 

You can pick it up all you want, just don't wear it.

Well next time say what you mean, dangit! Imagine some newbie coming in and reading that, and developing a lifelong fear of touching hexed items! There are some items that will affect your stats even though you can't equip them. The statue of Geshtianna for example.

...Ok, always have to think of newbies! :x Name another object than the Statue of Geshtianna that affects you of having it in the inventory!

Oh, and having Lady Druella in your party will affect your stats as well. Not exactly an inventory item, but similar concept. Sorta.

Fiiiiiiiine, don't think of the poor helpless newbies. Slice them all to pieces with your Bangellian Scourge and serve their brains as dessert in your Dark Helm, see if I care.

Really? Which staves? I always either sell staves ASAP or just dump them on Virgil, so I've never noticed this effect.
