Post your horrible ethnic foods!

I always check for 'chocolate' and avoid the ones that say 'chocolate flavoured'.

NOT a good idea to eat too much chocolate flavoured things....

 

i've just read the ingredients on a freddo frog wrapper (chocolate shaped like a frog) and well judge for yourself.....

full cream milk, sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, emulsifiers (322, 476), FLAVOURS, may contain traces of nuts.


now, where shall i begin?????

 

Well, I wouldn't think too hard about what they mean by nuts if I were you ...

 

You can always tell if food is crap if it's got monosodium glutamate in it. MSG is a neural stimulant and is used in 'food' that is made of naff quality ingredients. It over-stimulates the taste buds and fools the tongue into thinking that what you're eating is actually tasting good.

The major problem is though, that MSG fries the tastebuds after a few years. Another major problem is - they put the stuff in almost everything! (you won't find many sweets nowadays without MSG in them and 'value' stuff nearly always has it in as well. :x )

 

MSG is banned or something here in Australia I think. Or at least, I don't see it in foods..

Actually I do not mind that pig intestine stuff. People use it to stuff it with all kinds of things, it looks more like a sausage.

One thing I don't like is one ethnic food where people put noodles in cold basin of soy based soup, it is chalky white. That is rather nauseating.

 

I just had a thought: Can China claim ice cream as an ethnic food seeing as it originated there? I realise that ice cream is, in fact, nice, but could they claim it?

No, Milo, you can't claim it as a representative of the Chinese/Asian people.

 

Except for the cold part, that sounds like Miso soup. I like that stuff.
