Maybe it's because they are poorly motivated? If they can't get one directly (which shouldn't be hard with the Big Issue and all) then they could kill an employee and take their place...or they could threaten the employer from the get go. Or they could submit themselves to experiments, further biological weapons and cosmetics and protect animals from the same fate.

Look, I'm not saying this is true for all of them, but it is quite likely that more than a couple of them are living in the gutter because they've been royally screwed over by other people, and they just couldn't recover from it.

right now, the US economy sucks balls, and it's almost impossible to find a job. people with awesome college degrees are working at McDonalds just so they can feed their kids... in general, i used to think bums sucked, but now days, too many decent, hardworking people are being screwed over.

Since when did it matter if people were decent and hardworking? Surely after a couple thousand years of collected human experience you should know by now that it never mattered at all. Fair enough hardworking people will generally do better than poorly motivated people but being decent is just limiting your own horizons.

Yes true. I don't really hate bums, especially because it's in my interest coz it's all I'm gonna be :)

I kind of want to say something about the movie, I'm actually gonna go see it tonight (rest day), and theres lots of other shit I want to say too, but I don't really think it will make a difference here, suffice to say I agree that we need to take care of our shit. Ignoring the problems wont make them go away. But whatever, when I saw commercials for the movie I was kind of depressed, my initial reaction was "holy shit, not another fucking disaster movie," and swore not see it. Unfortunately it looks like I'm going to anyway, but only because my choices are harry potter, van helsing, shrek 2, and the day after tomorrow.

As for the supposed controversy, its just a bunch of shit, the movie is obviously bullshit, people were afraid of meteors back when that was the big disaster movie fad, I'm sure this movie is just a bunch of other popular environmental fears rolled up into a brainless movie about millios of people dying for our entertainment. I'm sure I'll get more looks than retard did though, solely based on the amount I predict I'll be laughing at the frozen corpses and smashed cars etc.
That sounds like me at/in/around a church.

Please realize that not all liberals are hippy ass holes, and not all conservatives are enlightened geniuses.

The worst reason to vote for any candidate would be to spite the people you feel have been preaching at you.

Actually, there were over 1 million jobs created in the past 3 weeks. Also, you know how you hear a lot about jobs being outsourced, shipped overseas? Well, what you don't hear is that right now, there are 3 times the amount of jobs being insourced. When's the last time you heard about interest rates being this low? Or inflation this low? I wouldn't say the economy sucks just because some people seem to have to say that in every sentence the same way they have to take a breath in between phrases.

I realize this. Actually a lot of my dad's friends from Minn., Chicago, New York, Mass., Atlanta, and even Austin, Texas are libs. And they are just regular joe-blow people like us. The difference is they (my dad and company) never talk about politics. One of my dad's best friends is a lawyer from St. Paul, and he and his family are the biggest liberals I've ever met. And I love them with all my heart. Nowhere have we found sweeter people. See, politics screws up a lot of shit. Even in the church we used to go to. It stopped being about church, and started getting political. (Where were you at last Sunday, Tom?) Instead of enjoying worshipping together.

Also, I've never, and never will vote for a candidate to spite anyone. I vote to elect someone I feel will be best for the job.

Its funny, so far almost everyone I've met during my month or so in the bible belt, that I've actually talked to about politics, would be a total bleeding heart liberal, if it weren't for their religious beliefs and pat robertson-esque fear of islam.

The big issues that sway them are abortion, and fear of being killed by towel heads. Oh yeah, don't forget bill o'reilly like knowledge that there are definitly "WMD's" in Iraq, somewhere.
